Zaxis's DPS Calculator (v 0.1)
This awesome tool is made by Zaxis. Do NOT credit it to me. I only added some numbers.
A few things before we start. DPS means damage per second; I'll post the formulas below. Damage is very important to weapons, but there are other variables that can influence the outcome of a battle greatly. For example critical, covers, suppression, movement, target armor etc... Some of these variables are not included in this calculator (yet).
The current version of the calculator is great for comparing base weapon statistics, this is very useful. However, you still need to manually apply other modifiers and take weapon critical into consideration if you plan to use it for more serious calculations.
DPS calculators for non-small arms weapons are not encouraged by me. Reason being the huge list of variables, scatter, splash, defelctions, projectile type, long reload times etc... Its really meaningless DPS if the gun shoots once every five seconds. Its just not worth it unless you know exactly what you are doing.
